Networking groups, one type of Office Ability Intranet group, can be created for activities, projects, or any other occasion that will require people to come together as a work group.  

If there is any Intranet product on the market that offers an equivalent level of group control, we have not yet discovered it. With Office Ability there are several ways to create work groups and target information to groups, an ability that will prove invaluable as you develop your Intranet.  Check the others and you will see that Office Ability offers the most powerful and intuitive group and access controls of any Intranet software available.

Access Permission Levels

User groups can be created for employees, project managers, publishers, & administrators. Permissions to access various Intranet areas can be customized using these group settings. Being able to control permissions lets a company maintain security of its information, retain privacy and confidentiality where required, and provide a collaboration environment for users that will be collaborating on just about any type of task.

User Groups

Creating customizable user groups, at the user account level, is our most powerful level of group control... a function that is exclusive to Office Ability. User groups allow your organization to define and create different groups (e.g., by location, department, outside stakeholders) and to control publishing, document sharing, and even page content, based on the groups assignment of each user.

Perhaps the concept can be likened to targeted Intranets within the bigger intranet system. Once the Groups have been planned and mapped out, Groups can be established from the front-end Administration panel.

Networking Groups

The work-groups feature contained in Office Ability is a powerful way for custom created groups to collaborate. Any number of groups may be created, whether for members of departments, committees, clubs, or project teams.

Others in the Intranet community can request to join groups and interaction within the groups can be left public or made private. Networking groups are a great way to build teams, hold discussions, share information, and communicate via a bulletin board. Project Groups

The Project Ability project management tool is another way to manage groups within the Intranet.  Users may create project work groups that are only accessible by the members of the group.

There is also an ability to create custom groups within projects, assign those users that should be a part of the groups, and send notifications to group members.
